Almedalen 2023

Wednesday June 28, Testbed Sweden Precision Health is hosting an event at Almedalen.

Almedalen takes place each year in Sweden in the city of Visby at the island of Gotland and is the world's largest democratic meeting place for social issues. No question is too trivial and none too extensive. It is a place with a focus on meeting and conversation, where different voices and different perspectives can be heard. A meeting place - open to everyone who wants to be part of the democratic conversation. The unique thing about Almedalen is the wide range of actors in the public, private and non-profit sectors, who, together with political representatives and the media, meet for a week in Visby's narrow streets to discuss important social issues.

Testbed Precision Health Cancer will be on site with guests and talk about the skills development required for a successful implementation of precision health/precision medicine. If we don't meet in Almedalen, our seminar can be seen here on the web Live and afterwards.

Welcome!

Health and cancer care with precision - do we have the skills?

For the successful development and implementation of precision health/precision medicine, continuous competence development and the hiring of new professional categories in health care are required. How do we ensure the supply of skills nationally to modernize cancer care in a sustainable and equal way?

Location: S:t Hansplan 2, S:t hans Café Folkhälsodalen

Day: Wednesday, June 28, 2023

Time: at 14:10 - 14:55

Precision health is driven by research and innovation. In order for development and implementation not to be delayed, it is important to quickly increase knowledge in the area. Precision medicine is a central component of precision health, which means sharper diagnostics, tailored treatment and follow-up based on the individual's unique needs and conditions. An important goal to strive towards is to be able to go from alleviating to curing and preventing disease. More precise interventions have great potential to improve human health. Both suffering and costs decrease as we can implement precision health. The seminar is organized by Testbed Sweden Precision Health Cancer, which was established in 2021 at the initiative of Genomic Medicine Sweden (GMS), SciLifeLab and Nollvision cancer. Authorities, regions, academia, business and civil society work together with design and method development for increased precision in prevention and diagnostics, more effective treatments, techniques and working methods.
